MEET THE FOUNDER

MARIA MEEKER , M.S. ED.

As a mother of four and a lifelong educator, I’ve seen how overwhelming educational documents and special education language can feel for families. When I stepped away from the brick-and-mortar school system in 2019, I found myself naturally supporting parents, educators, and school teams who were all trying to understand the same thing: the wording, expectations, and processes that shape a child’s educational plan. Over time, it became clear that so many challenges in the IEP process come down to one thing, understanding the language.

The goal of my work is not to criticize schools or create conflict. In fact, I love working with schools. I’ve spent my career in education, and I have deep respect for the dedication and heart educators bring to their roles. My purpose is to help bridge the gap between home and school by making the terminology, structure, and intent of educational documents easier for everyone to understand. When parents truly understand the verbiage, they can communicate more clearly, participate more confidently, and collaborate more effectively with their child’s team.

Through NavigatED Solutions, I translate complex documents into clear, accessible language and create a comprehensive report that speaks on behalf of the child’s needs. The report becomes the parent’s voice, clearly outlining concerns, strengths, required supports, and recommended next steps in a way that is respectful, organized, and actionable. My intention is always to strengthen the partnership between families and schools by giving everyone a clearer picture of what the child needs to succeed.

I do this work because I believe that understanding leads to better collaboration, and collaboration leads to better support for children. My role is not legal, and it’s not combative. It’s supportive, clarifying, and centered on helping families and educators work together with confidence. You don’t have to navigate the terminology, the process, or the paperwork alone. I’m here to help you understand it and to help ensure your child’s needs are communicated clearly, respectfully, and effectively.
