SPRING 2026 Education Professionals Training

Who This Training Serves

This program is designed for education professionals who are ready to deepen their advocacy skills:

  • Intervention specialists and special education teachers
  • Building and district administrators
  • General education teachers who sit on IEP or 504 teams
  • School counselors, school psychologists, and related service providers

Whether you remain in your current role or eventually collaborate with families independently, this training gives you a clear, structured framework for advocacy that is practical, ethical, and student-centered.

What You’ll Learn

  • Advocacy Skills in Action
Learn how to frame concerns, ask the right questions, and keep meetings focused on student needs, without escalating conflict.
  • IEP & 504 Analysis
Practice reading and dissecting IEPs, 504 plans, ETRs, FBAs, and BIPs to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and missing supports.
  • Understanding Legal Frameworks
Gain a working understanding of the laws that shape services (IDEA, Section 504, ADA) so you can speak confidently in meetings and documents.
  • Documentation & Educational Assessments
Build skills in writing clear, organized educational summaries and reports that support data-driven decisions for students.

How the Program Works

Program Structure

  • Format: Live virtual sessions and guided independent practice
  • Materials: Sample IEPs/504 plans, templates, and checklists
  • Time Commitment:  6 hours of training with [2] live sessions
  • Community: Opportunities to connect with like-minded educators who care deeply about student access and equity

Each participant completes practical assignments that mirror real-life advocacy tasks, such as reviewing a plan, drafting a parent-friendly summary, or outlining key questions for an IEP meeting.
